Our story

A legacy built one block at a time

In a neighborhood that has continuously evolved, Carmela Vlacich has remained a constant in Astoria’s real estate landscape. After more than 35 years of serving Queens, Carmela, alongside her daughter Daniela, opened Carmela Homes on Ditmars Boulevard: a milestone shaped by experience, integrity and a deep connection to the community.

Now Broker and Co-owner, Daniela sees the office as the continuation of a much longer journey. “This office is not simply a new business venture,” she says. “It is the continuation of a legacy that began decades ago.” And, as Daniela adds with a smile, many of those early appraisals ended as expected: “Carmela got the listings.”

Daniela learned the business early, going with her mother to appraisals as a child and doing door-to-door outreach, where relationships were built one block at a time.

The market is very competitive and can feel aimed against transplants at times especially regarding virtual viewings.
